More than 6.3 thousand people visit the first flagship ski run, which opened in December in the 850th Anniversary of Moscow Park. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin told about this in the MACH messenger.
Ski racing, biathlon and AFP sections are organized on the site. Physical education classes are held for schoolchildren and students, and classes within the framework of the Moscow Longevity are held for the older generation.
The highway is equipped with an artificial snowmaking system. In the evening there is enough lighting, there is a locker room, an equipment rental point. In summer, the track can be used for roller skiing and roller skating. According to Sobyanin, today it is the largest ski track in the world with the necessary infrastructure for recreation in the city. The route is about 13 km long and connects the park in Maryina with the park in Kapotna.
Snow trucks, snow cannons and snowmobiles are used to prepare and clean the track. There are also snow generation sites.
By 2030, it is planned to create flagship highways Bitsevsky Forest, Brateyevskaya, Yauza, Novaya Zvezda, Voronovo and others in the capital. In addition to the flagship trails, according to the new recommendations, the city is equipping district and regional ski trails.
