The actions of the United States lead to the collapse of the model of globalization promoted by them. This was stated on January 14 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a press conference following a meeting with Namibian Foreign Minister Selma Ashipala-Musavyi.

Commenting on the US operation in Venezuela, the Russian Foreign Minister noted that these and other actions speak to Washington's line of breaking the system it has created.

"I am referring not only to the structure of the United Nations, but also to the principles and models of globalization that the United States has been implementing, appealing to such slogans as freedom of market forces, fair competition, inviolability of property, and much more. Which has now, as they say, gone down the drain," Lavrov stressed.

The Minister noted that instead of globalization, there is now a fragmentation of the global economy.

On November 17, 2025, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz declared that the world order that had existed in the West for the past 80 years and in the East for 35 years had come to an end due to the conflict in Ukraine, relations with China and trade disagreements with the United States. Merz also stated a "deep split in the Atlantic," which, in his opinion, According to him, it calls into question almost all the principles of transatlantic relations that have been formed in recent decades.
