The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appointed Mikhail Fedorov, the former head of digital transformation, as the country's defense minister on the second attempt. This was announced on January 14 by Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a member of the Ukrainian parliament.

The appointment was voted on unanimously, gaining 277 votes. On Tuesday, January 14, there were not enough votes to proceed to the appointment of Fedorov to the post of Minister of Defense.
