Oleg Basilashvili called Zolotovitsky a unique artist

Igor Zolotovitsky, rector of the Moscow Art Theater of Russia Studio School, was a unique artist who devoted his life to the theater. Oleg Basilashvili, People's Artist of the USSR, told Izvestia about this on January 14.

The actor noted that Zolotovitsky glorified the artistic art of theater all his life and devoted himself to the students of the Moscow Art Theater Studio School.

"A kind, intelligent, honest man, a wonderful, wonderful artist has left us. He is unique," Basilashvili said.

According to the People's Artist of the USSR, Zolotovitsky was a handsome and strong man with eyes radiating love of life and joy.

"I will remember him forever," Basilashvili added.

Zolotovitsky died at the age of 65. On January 14, the Moscow Art Theater Studio School expressed its condolences to the rector's relatives and friends. The date and time of the farewell to Zolotovitsky will be announced separately. The cause of the artist's death was cancer. It was noted that the farewell to Zolotovitsky will take place at the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater. The cultural institution will inform you about the time of the ceremony later.

Director Andrey Zhitinkin, in an interview with Izvestia, called Zolotovitsky a witty and cheerful person. According to him, the actor could make any actor work, which made him a good teacher. Zhitinkin added that Zolotovitsky was a caring rector.
