The defense of the taxi driver injured by ex-judge Trishkin appealed the verdict.
The defense of the taxi driver, who was shot by the former judge of the Second Western District Military Court Albert Trishkin in 2024, asked for a tougher punishment for the accused. Alexander Monin, the driver's lawyer, told Izvestia about this on January 14.
According to investigators, in August 2024, the ex-judge quarreled with a taxi driver who blocked his path, shot him in the leg with a Makarov traumatic pistol. According to Trishkin, he found the gun "behind the garages" two days before the incident and was going to hand it over to the police department, but did not have time.
Later, his son, who testified in the case, reported that the weapon was found near the military court.
The Vidnovsky city Court of the Moscow region on December 26 last year found Trishkin guilty and sentenced him to two years probation.
On September 28, a criminal case was opened against Trishkin under paragraphs "d", paragraphs "e" and paragraph "z" of Part 2 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Intentional infliction of moderate harm to health from hooligan motives motivated by hatred of any social group using objects used as weapons"). Before that, the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, asked for permission to initiate a case, and soon Trishkin resigned.
On December 23, the prosecutor requested a three-year suspended sentence for Trishkin. In addition, the state prosecution petitioned for partial satisfaction of the victim's claim and recovery of 500 thousand rubles in his favor. On the same day, Trishkin apologized to the victim.
