The price growth for Lada cars in recent years has lagged behind the inflation rate, at the same time AvtoVAZ ended 2025 with a profit. Maxim Sokolov, the head of the company, said this during a press conference in Moscow, the Izvestia correspondent reported on January 14.

"In the recent history of AVTOVAZ, price growth has lagged significantly behind the inflation rate. In 2025, it was raised by 1.8% in January alone. In January 2026, there was also an indexation of about 0.5%. Prices for Lada Aura and Largus models have even decreased since this year, and we are not talking about promotions and discounts, but about the official recommended retail prices," Sokolov said.

The top manager also said that, according to preliminary results, AvtoVAZ ended 2025 with a profit. The credit burden on the company was largely formed under the previous shareholder, he said.

As previously reported by AvtoVAZ, since January 2026, after the price lists were changed, the initial price of the Lada Aura has decreased by 354 thousand rubles and amounted to 2.25 million rubles (-14%). The price of Lada Largus decreased by 73 thousand rubles to 1.59 million rubles (-3.8%). Lada Vesta 2026 model year, which recently received additional equipment, costs from 1.58 million rubles. The initial price of Granta was 850 thousand rubles; Iskra — 1.28 million rubles; Niva Legend — 1.1 million rubles; Niva Travel — 1.42 million rubles.

According to Sokolov at a press conference, by the end of 2025 AvtoVAZ has produced 325,000 cars. At the same time, by decision of the Board of Directors, the production plan was adjusted to take into account external macroeconomic factors.
