Pashinyan noted the need for Armenia to comply with EU standards

In order for Armenia to join the European Union (EU), it is necessary to meet its standards. This was announced on January 14 by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

"Do we want to become a full member of the European Union? Yes, undoubtedly and unequivocally. <...> But there is one very big and important precondition for this.: The country must objectively meet the standards of the European Union," he said.
