The start of production of Lada Vesta Sport is scheduled for spring 2026, sales will begin closer to summer. Sergey Kornienko, AvtoVAZ's head of product marketing, told the Izvestia correspondent on January 14.

According to the expert, the Lada Vesta sports modification will be equipped with a 1,8-liter engine with a capacity of 146 hp, it will be combined with a six-speed manual transmission. The Sport modification will receive both a sedan and a station wagon. The pre-production Vesta Sport was shown during AvtoVAZ's press conference in Moscow.

The company's representative also shared that the classic Lada Niva Legend SUV will receive a new 1.8-liter engine, and the launch of such a modification is scheduled for April 2026. Last fall, Lada Niva Travel received a similar unit. In addition, according to AvtoVAZ, this year the Lada Iskra, Vesta and Aura models will receive new options, and powertrain upgrades are also planned.

Maxim Sokolov, the head of the car company, said during a press conference that AvtoVAZ is now preparing to launch commercial models of the new SKM brand, which was announced back in March last year.

"We are waiting for the "window" for the most successful launch of the SKM brand on the market — this will happen in 2026. The line will include an all—metal van and a passenger version," said the top manager.
