The Russian Interior Ministry has warned about a new fraudulent scheme, according to which intruders act by posing as the administration of a driving school. The official representative of the Ministry, Irina Volk, announced this in her Telegram channel on January 14.

As she said, citizens receive phone calls on behalf of the administration of the driving school. The attackers require you to provide an authorization code to sign up for a class, activate a classroom, or confirm an exam.

"As soon as the code is transmitted, the standard pressure chain begins: simulated hacking, reports of an alleged data leak, and the appearance of "law enforcement officers" who urge them to "save money" or "take part in investigative actions," Volk said.

Fraudsters get information about students through open pages on social networks, student chats, or public groups of the driving school itself.

In addition, a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation warned that scammers create fake Telegram channels and websites of popular educational organizations, offer a "preferential place" or "early entry", demanding an urgent prepayment to an individual's card. After the transfer, the funds disappear, and attempts to "make a refund" are used to lure the bank card data.

Earlier, on January 12, it was reported that amendments to the rules for passing driver's license exams developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia suggest tightening the terms of the practical exam. For successful candidates for drivers who have successfully passed the theory, this period is planned to be reduced from six months to 60 days.
