By the end of 2025, AvtoVAZ produced 325,000 vehicles. This was announced by the head of the company Maxim Sokolov, the Izvestia correspondent reports from the company's press conference on January 14. By the decision of the board of directors, the production plan was adjusted to take into account external macroeconomic factors, the top manager said.

"We followed the market and took into account the experience of 2008 and 2009, when overproduction of cars almost led to an economic collapse in the whole region. This is a balanced indicator. On the one hand, it provided consumers with the necessary number of cars, preventing overstocking of dealers' warehouses, on the other hand, it allowed for the sustainable financial development of the company," Sokolov explained.

In 2024, AVTOVAZ's output amounted to 525.5 thousand cars (+40% year-on-year), and in 2025 it was planned to produce 500 thousand cars.

Sales of Lada cars in 2025 amounted to 338.5 thousand vehicles (including under government contracts), said Dmitry Kostromin, AvtoVAZ's vice president for Sales and Marketing. The brand's market share was 24%, and the company intends to increase it to 25% in 2026. Kostromin called the current year difficult in terms of sales, especially in the first half of the year. Positive dynamics is expected in the second half of the year, and significant market growth is expected in 2027, he said.

The total sales of the AvtoVAZ group (Lada and Xcite brands) in 2025 amounted to 351.4 thousand vehicles. The Lada Granta family has become the market leader in Russia (133.4 thousand units; market share 10.4%). Vesta is in second place (75.1 thousand units; 5.6%), 57% of sales were sedans. The Lada Niva family of SUVs became the third (a total of 69.6 thousand units for two models; 4.8%). Sales of Lada commercial vehicles amounted to 14.2 thousand units, the share in the segment increased to 98%.

On January 12, it became known that AvtoVAZ had resumed its standard five-day operation after the New Year holidays. This year, the company plans to start production of the Lada Azimut crossover, equip the Niva Legend SUV with a new 1.8-liter engine, and also launch the Lada Vesta model in the Sport modification.
