On January 13, US President Donald Trump said that Greenland's Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen was in trouble for saying he wanted to remain part of Denmark.

"Well, that's their problem. That's their problem. I don't agree with him. I do not know who he is. I don't know anything about him, but it will be a big problem for him," Trump told reporters when asked to comment on the prime minister's statement.
