The calculation of the BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) of the Yuzhnaya group of forces in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) destroyed an observation post and a firing point of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on January 14 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

During aerial reconnaissance and patrolling of residential areas of the settlement of Artyom, operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) discovered fortifications belonging to Ukrainian militants. The coordinates of the target were promptly transferred to the artillery command. It was decided to use rocket artillery, and the BM-21 Grad MLRS crew moved into position. As a result of the shelling, the enemy's shelters were destroyed along with the soldiers stationed there.

On January 13, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the efforts of the Grad MLRS and reconnaissance UAVs of the Vostok group revealed the concentration of AFU forces in prepared positions in the Zaporizhia region. It was clarified that the reconnaissance from the UAV accurately determined the location of the enemy's stronghold. After that, the Grad MLRS calculations delivered a massive blow, completely covering the specified square.
