Artillery units of 120-mm self-propelled guns 2S9 "Nona-S" of the 299th Guards Yaroslavl Parachute Regiment of the Ivanovo Guards Airborne Unit from the Dnepr group of forces destroyed the control point of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the right bank of the Dnieper River in the Kherson region in the area of a special military operation. This was announced on January 14 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The UAV control point was, as specified in the department, discovered during aerial reconnaissance by operators of reconnaissance drones of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The target was identified deep in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the right bank of the river, it was located in the basement of a dilapidated building abandoned by civilians of the settlement.

The command of the Guards Parachute Regiment decided to destroy the self-propelled artillery detected by fire, for this the coordinates of the control point of the enemy drones were immediately transferred to the crew of the 120-mm self-propelled gun "Nona-S", which in turn, after aiming, hit the target with accurate shots. After completing the combat mission, the crew camouflaged the self-propelled artillery installation and went into hiding.

"We are working in the Kherson area, there are quite a lot of targets — we are working on enemy manpower, light and heavily armored vehicles, as well as on UAV calculations, mortar calculations and enemy fortifications," the commander of the gun with the call sign Gam told about the work of his unit.

A day earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported the destruction of Ukrainian watercraft in the Dnieper Delta by fighters of the Russian Armed Forces using unmanned boats. It was noted that Sirius-82 model boats were involved in the operations, which are capable of carrying two anchored river mines. A soldier with the call sign Kolibri said that the use of the back allows you to effectively block waterways, limit the enemy's maneuver and isolate his movement through the waterways of the Kherson region.
