Figure skater Marasanova announced her retirement
Russian 16-year-old figure skater Anastasia Marasanova announced her retirement from sports on January 13.
"It so happened that for the whole month I constantly had some problems, but thank God, everything was resolved. <...> Unfortunately, it so happened that I stopped skating. But I'm retiring from sports only as an athlete, my future life will still be connected with figure skating," Marasanova wrote on her Telegram channel.
The figure skater did not specify what exactly she plans to do in the industry. In the publication, she thanked for the faith and support of the coaches and parents who accompanied her on her sporting path for 12 years, and also mentioned the support of the fans.
Marasanova is the winner of the 2023 Panin-Kolomenkin Memorial in junior competitions.
Russian figure skater and three-time champion of Russia Alexander Gallyamov announced on December 20 that the results of past competitions may hint at his retirement. He took the unsuccessful performance as "a hint that it's time to hang up the skates."
