Vegetables from the first greenhouse complex in Magadan will be received in February

In February, it is expected to receive the first products from the greenhouse complex, which is under construction in Magadan. The investment project is being implemented as part of the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation to increase the production of vegetables in protected soil in the Far Eastern Federal District.

The first stage of a major investment project was completed in 2025. Agro Invest LLC is engaged in the project on an area of 1.84 hectares. The total planned area is 3 hectares. The planned production volume is 1,070 tons of vegetables per year. The greenhouse complex is being built using the investor's own funds and a loan from Sberbank PJSC. The complex is currently operating in a test mode. Specialists debug technological systems and equipment. The facility will be officially put into operation in July, after the landscaping of the surrounding area is completed.

In accordance with the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin dated November 7, 2023, by 2026 it is planned to double the volume of production of berries and vegetables in protected soil in the Magadan Region and in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug compared to the level of 2022. The new greenhouse complex is necessary to ensure the food security of the region and reduce dependence on imported products.

In mid-November, Dmitry Patrushev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, reported that in Russia, for the balanced operation of the agro-industrial complex, a comprehensive system of state support had been built, aimed at developing production, science, logistics, and the technical and technological capabilities of the industry.
