The State Duma proposed to simplify the registration of car tuning
Car tuning in Russia should be legalized, provided that such improvements to the car do not affect road safety. This opinion was expressed by the vice-speaker of the State Duma Vladislav Davankov.
"If this does not affect road safety, then I believe that it is necessary to simplify all registration options for such cars," TASS quoted him as saying on January 13.
The parliamentarian pointed out that in some cases, tuning affects the improvement of parts and factory characteristics of cars, especially since "they are not always the best in our country." At the same time, sometimes, due to improvements, cars turn into "something alien," he noted.
According to Davankov, there is enough "common sense and road safety filter" in this area. Drivers of modified cars will continue to drive them, risking a fine, which leads to an increase in the level of domestic corruption, the deputy added.
Earlier, the Civic Chamber recalled the changes in fines for tinting from January 9. They eliminate a gap in the law, which was previously used by those car owners who temporarily imported vehicles into the territory of the Russian Federation.
