In the first reading, the State Duma adopted a draft law on regional responsibility for children's recreation

Deputies of the State Duma adopted in the first reading a draft law on raising the status of regional commissions for organizing children's recreation and the responsibility of regional heads for organizing a children's health campaign. This became known on January 13 after the end of the plenary session.

In December, the document was submitted for consideration by a group of deputies led by Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.

It is assumed that the bill will amend Article 12 of the law "On Basic Guarantees of the rights of the Child in the Russian Federation." According to him, the commissions of the subjects of the Russian Federation in the field of healthcare will necessarily include representatives of executive authorities. The explanatory note states that this is required to meet the goals of the format and the requirements for the content of children's recreation.

As noted by one of the authors of the bill, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Irina Yarova, children's camps are a special place for recreation - their safety and organization should be monitored especially closely.

"By involving all responsible ministries and departments at the federal and regional levels, we are creating a completely new system of high-quality content for children's recreation, which will ensure both health and a meaningful format for working with children, so that children receive the kindest emotions and lifelong impressions during the holidays, and families are calm when sending children are being sent to camps," TASS quoted her as saying.
