Novokuznetsk hospital spent 63 million rubles on repairs in 2023

Novokuznetsk City Hospital, which includes a maternity hospital, spent 63 million rubles on equipment repairs in 2023. The relevant data on the website of the Unified Information System in the Field of Procurement (UIS) was reviewed by Izvestia on January 13.

As part of the work, seven neonatal intensive care units, 11 incubators, as well as intensive care and anesthetic monitors designed to monitor vital signs were updated.

According to data for 2025, the hospital has conducted almost 600 procurement procedures and concluded more than 500 contracts totaling 1.6 billion rubles. In 2024, the volume of contracts amounted to 2.5 billion rubles, and in 2023 — 2.1 billion rubles.

During the New Year holidays, nine babies died in maternity hospital No. 1 in Novokuznetsk. A criminal case was opened into the incident on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code ("Causing death by negligence"), Part 3 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code ("Negligence").

In turn, the governor of Kuzbass, Ilya Seredyuk, temporarily dismissed the chief physician of the Novokuznetsk maternity hospital. The source of Izvestia reported that all infants were diagnosed with either intrauterine or neonatal infection, which gave critical complications.
