From January 1 to January 11, young people began to go to cultural events more often and pay for them with the Pushkin Card. According to VTB, which has become the new operator of the Pushkinskaya Card program since January 1, users have almost doubled their spending on it compared to last year.

During the New Year holidays, users issued more than 700,000 "Pushkin cards" and used them to buy 2.2 million tickets worth over 1.3 billion rubles. Compared to last year, payments by Pushkin cards have increased almost 2 times in number and amount. The peak occurred on January 2-5.

Cinema became the absolute leader — tickets accounted for 88% of all payments on the Pushkin Card. The average check was 560 rubles. The remaining 12% went to theaters, museums and concerts, where the average check reached 950 rubles.

"New Year's holidays are one of the most active periods of using the Pushkin Map. This is facilitated by film premieres, theatrical productions and exhibitions that leave few people indifferent," said Alexey Okhorzin, Senior Vice President and Head of VTB's Retail Business Products Department. He stressed that it was especially important for the bank to ensure a smooth transition of the program to VTB, "so that users would not feel the changes and would enjoy visiting their favorite cultural events." To date, VTB has issued 5 million "Pushkin cards".
