There have been 203 road accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours.

Over the past day, 203 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 15 people were killed and 250 injured. Nine of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on January 13 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

So, in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, during the daytime, on 810 km of the Tyumen-Tobolsk–Khanty–Mansiysk federal highway R-404, a 42-year-old truck driver with a semi-trailer drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with another truck. After the collision, both cars caught fire. The 39-year-old driver of the second truck was killed in the accident. Due to the car accident, traffic on the road section was temporarily stopped for several hours until the consequences of the incident were eliminated.

As a result of 68 accidents, 34 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and the same number outside their area of operation, six pedestrians were killed, 63 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 14 underage pedestrians, five of whom were injured when crossing the roadway outside the designated areas.

20 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which two people were killed, and 23 more road users, including two children, needed medical help. 11 bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.

So, in the Chelyabinsk region, in the evening, on 17 km of the federal highway M-5 Ural, a 69-year-old school bus driver, who was transporting 22-year-old schoolchildren and one adult passenger accompanying them home after school, collided with an excavator loader towed on a flexible coupling moving in front of him in the same direction. As a result of the accident, three minor bus passengers were injured and, after receiving medical treatment, were sent for outpatient treatment.

There were also 22 accidents involving minors, in which 26 young road users, including 12 passengers, were injured. There are no dead children.

The State Traffic Inspectorate recommended that bus drivers correctly assess their dimensions and speed, weather conditions, visibility, condition and width of the roadway, terrain and the possibility of skidding on a slippery winter road. The ministry called on bus drivers to be attentive and careful, and also to remember that the lives and health of passengers depend on their skills, driving experience, well-being, law-abiding driving behavior and good technical condition of the vehicle.

"In addition, we would like to draw the attention of motorists to the fact that in winter you should be extremely careful when driving a car: refrain from sudden thoughtless maneuvers and realignments, observe the interval and distance between vehicles, and choose the speed limit taking into account weather conditions," said the head of the Department of road safety promotion and prevention of children's road accidents.Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich caused traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

The day before, the State Traffic Inspectorate reported that from January 1 to January 11, 2026, according to preliminary data, 2,329 car accidents occurred on the country's roads, in which 348 people were killed and 3,515 injured.
