Polish Ambassador to Russia Krzysztof Krajewski was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry on January 12, where he was strongly protested in connection with the detention of archaeologist Alexander Butyagin in Warsaw. This was announced on January 13 by the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"K.Kraevsky was told that the accusations of the Kiev regime are absurd and related to the scientific activities of A.M. Butyagin within the framework of the Myrmekian archaeological expedition in an integral part of the Russian Federation — the Republic of Crimea," the ministry said in a message posted on the Telegram channel.
