Nebenzia pointed to the targeted attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the civilian population.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are purposefully attacking infrastructure facilities and civilians in Russia. This was stated on January 12 by Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzia at a meeting of the Security Council.

"Our Western colleagues completely ignore the crimes of the Kiev regime, which is deliberately targeting Russian regions, peaceful facilities and civilians. So, in December 2025 alone, the number of civilians affected by the attacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces amounted to at least 367 people, 56 people died," he said.

At the same time, Russia does not strike at the civilian population of Ukraine.

The permanent Representative added that by striking Russia, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is nullifying US President Donald Trump's proposals to resolve the conflict.

In this regard, Russia's permanent representative to the UN said that Russia would solve problems by fighting.
