Since January 1, 2026, the International Air Transport Association has banned powerbanks and devices with lithium-ion batteries in luggage, allowing them to be taken only in hand luggage. This is evidenced by the new IATA rules.

According to the new regulations, it is also prohibited to charge other devices from powerbanks during taxiing, takeoff and landing. They can only be placed under the seat or in the pocket of the back of the forward seat, transportation on the upper shelves of the cabin is not allowed.
