The body of the lynx, which died shortly after entering the territory of a children's sports camp near Ufa, was sent for examination — it will be possible to definitively confirm whether the animal was sick with rabies only in a month. On January 12, Izvestia was informed about this by the State Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan for Veterinary Medicine.

"Microscopy and PCR showed a negative result. A biopsy is also performed, which is one of the most sensitive and reliable methods of laboratory diagnosis of rabies. The final result will be known in 30 days," the source said.

The lynx attack on a child at the Ufa Sokol children's sports camp near Ufa became known earlier that day. The incident occurred on January 7, when a lynx entered the camp from the forest.

Later it became known that the Investigative Committee of Bashkiria had opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Negligence").
