Donald Trump called himself the savior of NATO
On January 12, US President Donald Trump announced his key role in preserving NATO.
"I am the one who saved NATO," Trump wrote on the Truth Social network.
The day before, Trump said that Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky "has no cards," and called himself Kiev's only advantage in resolving the conflict. He added that if Zelensky had not had such an advantage, the conflict in Ukraine would have turned into a "complete failure" for him.
On the same day, European Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius said that the US military operation to capture Greenland, if it begins, would mean the end for NATO. He also recalled Article 42.7 of the Treaty on the European Union, which obliges member States to provide assistance to Denmark in the event of military aggression from any country.
