A man and a woman died in a fire caused by smoking in the Angara region.

In Zheleznogorsk-Ilimsky in the Irkutsk region, a young man and a woman died as a result of a fire caused by carelessness while smoking. This is reported by the regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.

The fire occurred on the night of January 12 in an apartment building. By the time rescuers arrived, thick black smoke was coming from the apartments. Seven people evacuated on their own, and two more were rescued.

Firefighters found two dead people in the apartment engulfed in fire. According to IrkutskMedia news agency, the victims of the fire were a 29-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman.

The fire area was 54 square meters. m. Six people and two pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. According to the information of the investigators of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the cause of the fire was carelessness while smoking.

Another fire, caused by carelessness while smoking, occurred on January 11 in the Chita city circle. A 68-year-old man was killed.
