Reuters reported on Norway's plans to allocate about $400 million to Ukraine
The Norwegian authorities will allocate $397 million in "emergency assistance" to Ukraine's energy sector to assist the government in maintaining critical services in 2026. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on January 12.
The decision to allocate a new financial assistance package was made after the leaders of the European Union (EU) agreed to provide a loan of €90 billion in December 2025.
At the end of 2025, the Norwegian parliament allocated $8.5 billion to Ukraine, of which $7 billion is intended to support the country's defense capability, and another $1.5 billion is intended as humanitarian aid.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney spoke on December 27 last year about the country's provision of additional financial support to Kiev in the amount of $1.83 billion. He also noted that such actions would help unlock financing from the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to launch the "recovery process."
