New models of military equipment will appear in the special operation zone in the current quarter of 2026. This was stated by First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov at a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin on January 12.

"In total, more than a thousand new and modernized military equipment were tested on the front line in 2025. In the near future, we also plan, literally this quarter, to demonstrate an additional number," said Manturov.

He noted that the demand for the export of Russian military equipment is growing, in particular, it concerns samples in the field of air defense, aviation equipment and multiple launch rocket systems. According to Manturov, since 2022, the portfolio of signed Russian export contracts for military equipment has grown from $55 billion to $70 billion.

"I think this trend (of growth) will continue, because the equipment tested as part of a special military operation is advancing itself," the first Deputy Prime Minister said.

On the same day, it became known that the creators of the Knyaz Vandal Novgorodsky fiber-optic unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) are working on the production of a barrage munition with a range of more than 50 km, which could be used in conjunction with the KVN. In addition, experts are currently working on a number of other projects, including a jet—powered attack drone that can reach speeds of more than 500 km/h.
