The Chinese Ambassador to the Russian Federation named the number of Chinese students studying at Russian universities.

Currently, about 66,000 Chinese citizens study at Russian universities. This was announced on January 12 by Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui.

"Currently, 66,000 Chinese citizens are studying in Russia, and 21,000 Russians are studying in China," he said in an interview with Life.ru .

According to the diplomat, these students are not only "conductors of knowledge," but also engaged in creating "friendship for a new generation," strengthening humanitarian ties at the level of societies.

Zhang noted that Moscow and Beijing were able to create 15 university alliances that unite more than 800 educational institutions. In addition, there are 138 joint educational projects and institutions in China at the bachelor's level and above.

He also added that the main priorities for the future of the two countries are to expand exchanges based on mutual visa-free regime, strengthen cooperation in basic sciences and technological innovations, as well as support for teaching Chinese in Russia and Russian in China.
