52 thousand cubic meters of snow were removed from the streets of Lipetsk during the New Year holidays. Roman Chentsov, the mayor, spoke about the results of the activities of city services during the New Year holidays.

According to him, quoted by GOROD48, snow removal and road sprinkling were carried out around the clock. About 80 units of special equipment and more than 100 janitors and movers were involved in the work. About 2 thousand tons of salt, 4 thousand tons of sand-and-salt mixture and 30 tons of reagent were consumed.

Chentsov admitted that not everything could be cleaned immediately, as the weather made its own adjustments. However, every appeal was processed, and the problem areas were taken under control. The mayor noted some shortcomings on the part of the Criminal Code, as cleaning was not carried out properly everywhere. But after the comments, the situation was corrected.

Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos Weather Center, reported on January 10 that the snowfall recorded in the capital broke a half-century record, becoming the most intense in the last 56 years. He specified that 22 mm of precipitation fell into the precipitation meter at the VDNKh weather station during the day, which was 42% of the monthly norm.

Due to the incident on the night of Friday, January 9, to Saturday, January 10, traffic on some sections of the MKAD was almost paralyzed, and the work of Moscow airways was disrupted.
