Since the beginning of 2026, St. Petersburg has issued almost 5 million rubles in fines for ice and icicles on roofs. These are the data of the State Administrative and Technical Inspection of St. Petersburg (GATI).

78.ru with reference to the agency, he writes that knocking icicles off the roofs of any non-residential buildings, including shops, shopping malls and office buildings, is the responsibility of the owners. The fine for legal entities is 100 thousand rubles, for individual entrepreneurs — 10 thousand rubles.

The progress of meeting the requirements is monitored, among other things, by neural network complexes. They automatically detect icicles, collect information about the owner of the object and form a resolution in electronic form.

So, on January 12, the first day after the New Year holidays, there were 47 resolutions on the virtual inspection desk. The total amount of fines is 4.7 million rubles. The inspection sent information about 80 cases to the GJI. She touched the ice on residential buildings.

Earlier it was reported that at the end of the 2024-2025 winter season, GATI employees completed the training of eight Gorodovoy neural network complexes. The task of the system is to accurately distinguish ice and snow from stucco and bas—reliefs on the facades of buildings. When the accuracy became high, the function was put into operation.
