Construction workers have begun preliminary preparations for the construction of a new pedestrian bridge on Bolotnaya Embankment. The mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, told about this in his channel in the MACH messenger.

A new pedestrian bridge with a length of 170 m and a width of 5.4 m will unite sections of Bolotnaya Embankment at the intersection with Serafimovich Street. The bridge will have four ramps, including both stairs and ramps for people with limited mobility. It will be able to pass up to 1,500 pedestrians per hour. According to the mayor of the capital, the new bridge will almost halve the journey from Bolotnaya Square to the Udarnik cinema and HPP-2. In addition, it will become the final link of a single walking route from Vorobyovy Gory through Gorky Park and Krymskaya Embankment and Baltschug Island.

Construction work will be carried out, for the most part, from the water, so the construction will not affect the capacity of the streets. A special fleet has been prepared for the construction, including barges, tugboats and a floating crane. "We use modern engineering solutions that allow us to work within the tight boundaries of the construction site and in winter," said the mayor of Moscow.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
