The cost of one square meter of living space in Russia is about two average salaries. This was announced on January 11 by Vasily Tanurkov, Senior Director of the ACRA Corporate Ratings group.

"On average in Russia in recent years, the ratio of the cost of one square meter to the average salary has been around two, that is, two average monthly salaries are needed to buy one square meter of housing," he shared in an interview with RIA Novosti.

It is noted that the most expensive housing in relation to the average monthly salary is in Crimea and Sevastopol. According to the analyst, it will take about three salaries to buy one square meter of housing there. The cheapest housing is in the Magadan region and Khanty—Mansi Autonomous Okrug with about the same salary.

To buy one square meter of housing in Moscow, Krasnodar Territory and Tatarstan requires about 2.2–2.3 salaries, in St. Petersburg - 2.5 salaries, clarifies "Газета.Ru ".

On the same day, Vladimir Vinogradov, investor and CEO of Pro-Vision Communications, predicted that secondary apartments in Russia in February 2026 would rise in price by 3-5% compared to December 2025. According to him, buying real estate remains a profitable investment.
