Russians will work 120 hours in January with a 40-hour week
Russians with a 40-hour work week will work 120 hours in January 2026. This was announced on January 12 by Alexander Yuzhalin, head of the SuperJob legal practice.
"As a result, in January 2026 there are only 15 working days and 16 non-working days (including holidays and weekends). With a 40-hour working week, the standard working time for a month will be 120 hours," Yuzhalin told RIA Novosti.
He added that for employees with a shift schedule, work shifts may fall on holidays, and the standard hours are calculated cumulatively for a quarter, half a year or a year.
Earlier, on January 11, it was reported that Russians would celebrate the next three-day weekend in February and March on the occasion of Defender of the Fatherland Day and International Women's Day. The first working day after the New Year holidays in January is the 12th.
