The psychologist named ways to return to working mode after the holidays
For a normal and comfortable return to working days after a long period of weekends, it is worth setting aside one buffer day at the end of the rest, which will help you tune in to work. Elena Shpagina, psychologist, associate professor of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Institute of Management Technologies of RTU MIREA, told about this on January 11 in an interview with Gazeta.Ru».
"An important principle of successful adaptation is not abrupt, but gradual and conscious switching. The most effective tool is the introduction of a "buffer day" between the end of the holidays and the first working day. This day should not be filled with household fuss. His task is a soft reconfiguration," she said.
At the end of the buffer day, you can prepare work clothes for tomorrow, as well as make a to-do list for the beginning of the week. At the same time, one of the most important rituals for the symbolic end of the holidays may be to look at the photos taken during this period and mentally thank yourself for a quality vacation.
When the working week does begin, it is important to ensure a "soft start" to the work period. You should not immediately schedule important meetings or try to sort out the emails that have accumulated during your absence.
"The first 2-3 days should be devoted to getting into a rhythm. Start with simple, routine, but finalizable tasks: parsing incoming messages, tidying up documents, and planning. This will give the brain the opportunity to "warm up" and get the first doses of dopamine from performance, which motivates for more difficult challenges," Shpagina advised.
It is also important to maintain the biological rhythms of the body: to restore sleep, physical activity and nutrition. In this case, you should start the day with a contrast shower and a full breakfast. The morning light will also help you tune in to productivity.
RANEPA expert Tatiana Podolskaya reported on January 11 that there would be only three working weeks in Russia this month, the first of which would begin on January 12. Earlier, on January 6, she noted that in the coming year Russians will have five four-day working weeks, as well as one three-day and a week with a holiday in the middle of the working week.
