On January 7, a 37-year-old American woman was shot dead during an operation involving ICE agents in Minneapolis. According to the Ministry of Internal Security, she allegedly tried to use a car to run over employees and escape. The FBI and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating the shooting. The mayor of the city called on ICE agents to leave Minneapolis.
On the same day after the incident, mass protests began. The participants began pushing police officers and ICE agents out of the area, throwing snowballs at them and hitting official vehicles.
On January 8, US Vice President Jay Dee Vance announced that there is an organized network in the United States that periodically attacks migration officials. He added that the US authorities are trying to identify the sources of funding for this organization.
