The Ministry of Industry and Trade announced an increase in drug sales in Russia in 2025

The volume of sales of medicines in Russia in January – September 2025 increased by 13.8% and reached 2.2 trillion rubles. This was announced on January 11 by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov.

"The total volume of sales of medicines on the Russian market in the first to third quarters of 2025 increased by 13.8% in value terms compared to the same period last year and amounted to about 2.2 trillion rubles," the minister said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He added that sales of vital medicines increased by more than 11% and reached 1.2 trillion rubles, while the share of domestic medicines exceeds 40% in value and 62% in physical terms.

Vladimir Putin has stated the need for fixed prices for such drugs.

Earlier, on December 19, 2025, it was reported that the Russian Post was ready to start selling medicines in its branches. The bill is under consideration.
