The Telegraph has learned of Britain's intention to send troops to Greenland

The UK is discussing with other European countries the possibility of sending its military personnel to Greenland in order to prevent the island from joining the United States. This was reported on January 10 by the British newspaper The Sunday Telegraph.

It is noted that strengthening the island's defense capability may force US President Donald Trump to abandon the initiative.

"Negotiations within the framework of NATO on strengthening security in the region are continuing. We never get ahead of ourselves, but the UK is working with NATO allies on efforts to ensure deterrence and defense in the Arctic," the publication says.
