Acting as part of an anti-aircraft missile crew, Corporal Yevgeny Boriskin, at the Guard's air surveillance post, diverted the fire of enemy drones towards himself in order to prevent a strike on his comrades. The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the area of a special military operation on Sunday, January 11.

It is noted that during his regular duty, the soldier covered the advance of the Russian assault groups from an air attack. During the operation, Boriskin received a signal about the approach of an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). In order to prevent a strike on the air surveillance point and fellow attack aircraft, the fighter decided to divert the drone to himself.

Taking the drone to a distance, the guard corporal destroyed it with an accurate shot. However, he was followed from the rear by a second UAV, which exploded near the soldier. The soldier was wounded by shrapnel, but managed to provide first aid on his own, after which he refused to evacuate and continued to carry out tasks at the air surveillance post.

In total, during his duty, Boriskin destroyed more than a dozen enemy drones, as a result of which the Russian Armed Forces were able to successfully complete their combat mission.

The Defense Ministry also said that Ensign Yevgeny Egorov, along with his group, destroyed an automatic machine-gun grenade launcher (AGS) and four enemy personnel. The strike was carried out by precisely dropping the ammunition from the UAV. As a result of the destruction of the enemy, the Russian assault groups were able to successfully complete the combat mission.
