In Moscow, on January 9, a record amount of precipitation fell in the entire history of weather observations in the city. This was announced on January 10 at the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia.

"On January 9, 21.4 mm of precipitation fell at the main weather station of the capital, located at VDNKh, and the previous absolute maximum precipitation for this date was 12.9 mm and was recorded in 1976," the TASS news agency quoted.

It is noted that the total amount of precipitation that has fallen in the capital since the beginning of the year already exceeds 35 mm, which was 67% of the precipitation norm.
