Trump announced the planned second wave of strikes on Venezuela

The United States was planning a "second wave" of strikes on Venezuela, but it will not be required. This was announced on January 9 by the American President Donald Trump.

"We planned a second wave, but the first wave was so powerful, successful and effective. <...> They [the Venezuelans] did not want a second wave," Trump said.

He added that despite large investments in the Venezuelan oil industry, the United States would not require the Latin American country to reimburse the financial losses of American oil companies.

"We will not look at what people have lost in the past, as it was their fault," the American leader stressed.
