Most Russians have left Socotra Island in Yemen. This was announced on January 9 by the Russian Embassy in Yemen in the Telegram channel.

"The Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Yemen informs that most of the Russian citizens successfully left Socotra Island on flights IY5140 on January 7, 2026, IY5060 on January 8, 2026 and IY5000 on January 9, 2026," the statement said.
