The UN called for respect for international law in response to Trump's statements

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on the organization's member states to comply with international law. This was announced on January 9 by his representative Stephane Dujarric during a briefing for journalists.

"His reaction is to double down on his message to all Member states about the need to respect international law, which they themselves have created," Dujarric said.

This call was made in response to the words of US President Donald Trump in an interview with The New York Times, where the American leader said that he limited his powers only to "his own morality."
