Sobyanin spoke about the development of one of Moscow's key transport hubs.
The Moscow transport hub Kurskaya, which is one of the leaders in passenger traffic in the city, is becoming even more comfortable. This was stated by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
According to him, this hub has changed significantly in recent years. In the period from 2021 to 2025, four platforms were reconstructed at the Moscow-Passazhirskaya — Kurskaya MCD-2/MCD-4 station, and two new ones were built, one of which is already operating for passengers of the fourth central diameter. They also "completed the reconstruction of three tunnels, including a tunnel with access to the historical part of the city," the mayor wrote in his channel in the MAX. In addition, an operation management center was opened at Kurskaya station and the MCD-4 train traffic control system was upgraded.
The mayor recalled that the hub includes Kursky Railway Station, MCD-2 and MCD-4 stations, Kurskaya metro station on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya and Koltsevaya lines, as well as Chkalovskaya on the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line. "The flow of the entire hub is approaching 150,000 trips per day," Sobyanin said. — More than a third of them are accounted for by the MDC and suburban trains."
According to the mayor, this year, in accordance with the plan signed with Russian Railways, it is planned to complete work at the following Moscow city railway stations: Moscow City, Zheleznodorozhnaya, Tsaritsyno, Sickle and Hammer, Begovaya.
At the end of December, the new Petrovsko-Razumovskaya MCD-1 city railway station began operating in Moscow, where trains of the first Moscow diameter began to stop for the first time. The station has a platform with canopies, a passenger concourse with exits to the metro and to Komdiva Orlova Street. The transport hub has combined Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya and Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya metro lines with MCD-1 and MCD-3. According to Sobyanin, with the opening of the transfer hub, more than 250,000 residents of Marfino, as well as Timiryazevsky, Butyrsky, and Ostankino districts received "additional safe pedestrian access via railway tracks and many new travel options around the city that will allow them to save up to 25 minutes on the road."
