A Chinese food restaurant called "Jin Gu" was closed in Madrid after police officers who came there to check discovered the substitution of ducks for street pigeons in unsanitary conditions. This was reported on January 8 by The Sun newspaper, citing law enforcement officials.

It is noted that dirty bags were found at the site, which contained unidentified meat adjacent to the carcasses of plucked pigeons. Next to these clues were unwashed bowls standing by eight non-functioning refrigerators filled with unmarked products, some of which had already been spoiled. In addition, cockroaches were found in the establishment.

"After the raid, Jin Goo Restaurant received an order to immediately stop working and close. Its owner is currently under investigation on suspicion of violating public health and food safety standards," the text says.

It is emphasized that the owner of the establishment did not have a business license.

On March 24, 2025, Bloomberg reported a 7.1% drop in shares of the Japanese restaurant holding Zensho Holdings after one of the visitors to Sukiya found a rat in his miso soup. It was noted that the incident caused alarm and concern among those who visited the restaurant. Before the incident with the rodent trapped in the dish, Zensho shares showed strong growth amid investors' expectations that the chain's profits would increase due to higher prices for dishes.
