The United States may launch repeated strikes against the Islamic State (IS, a terrorist organization banned in Russia) in Nigeria if the Islamists continue to kill Christians. This was announced on January 8 by the American leader Donald Trump.

"I would like it to be a one-time strike. But if they continue to kill Christians, it will be multiple strikes," Trump said in an interview with The New York Times (NYT).
