One third of the world's population cannot afford a healthy diet. This became known on January 9 from the RAS study.

"Over the past four years, the number of people who cannot afford such a diet has decreased absolutely and relatively, and at the beginning of 2025 it was 2.6 billion people — almost 32% of the world's population," RIA Novosti quoted the agency as saying.

It is noted that the number of hungry people on the planet has increased to 673.2 million people (8.2% of the world's population). Among them, Asia (47%), Africa (45%), Latin America and the Caribbean (5%) occupy a large percentage.

Despite this, the global food situation has been improving for the fourth year in a row.
