Civilians of the liberated village of Grabovskoye, Sumy region, told about the evacuation

The Russian Ministry of Defense has released footage of civilians in Grabovskoye, Sumy region, who were evacuated by soldiers of the 34th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade (Gornaya) as part of the North group of forces. This was announced on January 9 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The Russian military found dozens of residents in the basements of the surviving houses and provided them with food and medicine. When the Ukrainian shelling intensified, civilians were offered evacuation. Weather conditions and terrain were used for a safe exit, and electronic warfare (EW) specialists created a "safety corridor" from drones.

Residents note the polite and respectful attitude of the military personnel.

"They came back in the evening, they said they had to evacuate. <...> Bags, a dog in their arms. It's very hard," said Elena, a resident of Grabovsky.

All the evacuees are now in a safe area, where they are receiving the necessary assistance.

Earlier, on December 22, 2025, it was reported that Larisa, a resident of Krasnoarmeysk in the DPR, spoke about the harassment of the Russian-speaking population by Ukrainian militants and shared her memories of life during the occupation of the city. According to her, the residents gratefully welcomed the Russian soldiers who liberated the city.
