Units of the Zapad group of forces continued fighting in the Kharkiv region, using attack drones to destroy equipment, shelters and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on January 9 by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The crew of unmanned aerial vehicles of the 27th Guards separate Sevastopol Motorized Rifle Brigade used Ghoul drones with high-explosive fragmentation charges to attack an underground temporary deployment point. All targets, according to objective control, were destroyed. Drones are equipped with different ammunition depending on the task and are sent to new targets immediately after being equipped.

"Today, a type of fiber—optic drone is used, we use it for infantry accumulation, namely for shelter," said the platoon commander with the call sign "Kazakh".
