In Russia, they named a way to refund money for a gift card

To refund funds for a gift certificate, a resident of Russia must write a request indicating the details of the bank account for the transfer of funds. This was announced on January 9 by Alexander Khaminsky, a lawyer and head of the law enforcement center in Moscow and the Moscow Region.

"In order to receive the money, it is better to write a written request in which you specify the number of the bank account to which you need to return the money. To refund the funds, you will need the certificate itself in paper or electronic form," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

However, when the funds on the gift cards are "burned out", the money remains at the disposal of the stores.

In cases where the seller refuses to refund the money, the Russian citizen has the right to file a complaint with Rospotrebnadzor or the court.
